Sunshine on . . . Princes Street*

What an absolutely stunning day it was on Saturday!  After a week of miserable Scottish weather some sun was much appreciated.Edinburgh looks so pretty in the sunshine.  When it is windy and raining you forget to look up and appreciate the amazing architecture the city has to offer, which doesn’t get much better than Edinburgh Castle.  Don’t let the sunshine fool you though, it is April and Scotland so there was still a nip in the air.

I have been loving this shirt recently, the boxy style is a favourite of mine and it has pleating detail at the back which I love.  Brogues are often my go to shoes, they add an edgy masculine feel to an outfit.  These ones were picked up in the Next sale and I feel they have a more casual look than some of my other ones.

My bag is from Scotsburn Croft, a company based in Scotland.  Owner Claire Ferguson takes her inspiration from the Highlands of Scotland where she grew up.  If you love tartan or tweed then you really need to check out the website, the collections are in modern, bold colours.  A really nice modern take on traditional tartan and tweed.  The handbag is great quality with leather straps and zip closure.  NanoSphere is woven into the fabric to increase the water and dirt repellent properties of it, a pretty useful feature for our unpredictable Scottish weather.

It injected some colour into my outfit and the pink in the tartan tied in with the pink of my jacket.  Anyone who reads my blog or knows me will be aware of my love of tartan, I always seem to be drawn to the fabric.  This bag is no exception.
