May was a really busy month! Mark and I went to Amsterdam, it was my first city break in years and our first proper holiday together. It was so much fun; we walked lots, saw lots, ate lots and drank lots of beer! Pretty perfect holiday in my book, I’m sure the awesome company helped.
I’m not sure if this happens to everyone but I find if you have been on holiday, even if it was for a short while you feel like it has taken up a lot of time with the preparation before you go and then the unpacking and trying to get back into the swing of things at work when you get back. So although it feels like it was a really busy month it doesn’t seem like we did much more than holiday. All worth it though. Going on holiday is great fun and it is always cool to see a different culture, and boy was Amsterdam a different culture!
Last month also saw Remnant Kings celebrate their 70th anniversary. I went along to their celebration and new fabric launch one dreich Thursday night. The new fabric is a collaboration with the iconic Liberty and is perfect.
The last weekend in the month was the Edinburgh Marathon Festival and a group of people from my work were running to raise money for Alzheimers. Most of the group were running in the 5k but myself and 2 other runners decided that was too easy for us and we challenged ourselves to run both the 10k and the 5k on the same day. I am a runner and have ran a few 10k races and I am runner but this was a challenge for me. I managed though and in not too bad times for 2 races. The worst part was having to walk 2k uphill back to the car after running 15k!
